Cold Desert – Leh & Ladakh

Day 01: Arrive Leh (By Flight) Meals: Dinner only Enjoy the most sensational flight to Leh, witnessing the most breathtaking sights of the K2, Nanga Parbat and Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif. Arrive Leh, meet upon arrival and transfer to hotel (Standard check in time 1200 hrs). Rest of the day is free for acclimatizing to the high altitude of Leh Ladakh. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Leh Meals: Breakfast & Dinner After breakfast drive to Sangam the confluence point of Indus and Zanskar river, one can enjoy the river rafting in Zanskar river (on direct payment). Later visit Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, built in 1517, is a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak to commemorate his visit to the Ladakh region. At Magnetic Hill it has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on a neutral gear the vehicle slides up-hill due to the magnetic force. On the way back to Leh visit Hall of Fame is a museum maintained by the Indian Army. One can see the memorabilia, Biographies of eminent defense personalities, images and weapons used during the Kargil War). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03:Leh – Khardung La – Nubra Valley Meals: Breakfast & Dinner After buffet breakfast proceed for road journey from Leh to NUBRA VALLEY passes over KHARDUNG LA (the highest motorable road in the world) at 5602 M / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as (Ldumra) or (The Valley of Flowers). It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Upon arrive proceed for check in camp.

Later visit Diskit Monastery and enjoy the Camel ride on sand dunes (on direct payment). Dikshit Monastry perched on a rock overhanging next to a stream, which provides the source of energy used by mills in the area. Diskit is the main village or headquarters of Nubra Valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops. Later drive to Panamik – famous for hot Sulphur Springs. You may take a bath at the springs, which is said to be very good for the skin, Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 04: Nubra Valley – Pangong Lake Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Today after breakfast, we shall drive to Pangong Lake enroute visiting Shyok, Durbuk and Tangste villages. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 M). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point to which foreigners are permitted, is only some seven km along the southern shore from the head of the lake, but it affords spectacular views of the mountains of the Changchenmo range to the north, their reflection shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lakes brackish water. Upon arrival proceed for check in camp. In the evening, enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 05:Pangong Lake – Leh Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Get up early morning to witness the sunrise view at the lake. Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Leh via Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs, Thiksey Monastery & 3 Idiots Rancho School. Arrive Leh and check in at the hotel. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel. Day 06: Depart Leh (By Flight – TBA) Meals: Breakfast only After breakfast day is free for personal activities. Standard check out time 1000 hrs In time you will be met and transferred to airport to board flight for onward journey
